Check out this video for a sneak peek at our Garnet & Jade Level Programs!
Garnet Program – 5 & 6 year olds
Your child will feel like “one of the big kids” as they learn more challenging ballet and tap technique in our Garnet Level classes! Dancers feel nurtured by their positive and encouraging teacher who gently introduces them to more structure to prepare them for the expectations of higher level classes. Dancers love dancing and playing fun games which help develop strength, flexibility, and balance. This helps them do more difficult and exciting movements which they will build upon in higher level classes. With more focus on proper placement and technique, dancers will feel a huge sense of accomplishment as they improve. Teachers often hear: “I can do it by myself!” as dancers aspire to learn and perform trickier steps.
This class prepares dancers for the next level, the Jade Level.
Jade Program – 6 & 7 year olds
Dancers thrive as they learn more challenging technique in our Jade Level classes! Children establish a solid understanding of ballet concepts and technique as they progress. Dancers are so proud of themselves as they begin learning and mastering more difficult movements. Students feel supported by their encouraging teacher who focuses on positive corrections and a “you can do it” attitude. They will rise to the challenge as their teacher holds high standards for technique, placement, and behavior.
Dancers will focus on ballet in this level, but they will still do some tap, focusing on rhythms and patterns to reinforce the musicality they are working on in the ballet portion of class.
This class prepares dancers for the next level, the Amethyst Level.

Performances
Performing in front of an audience is a special and thrilling moment for dancers. Their confidence soars as they get to show off everything they have learned in class! During a normal Dance Season, we hold two beautiful performances during Winter and Spring at the beautiful Aratani Theatre Downtown. This Season, we are holding our Winter performance in-studio and have the goal of going back to the Aratani Theatre for our Spring performance.
Normally, our pricing would be inclusive and include not only your dancer’s class tuition, but also their costume and recital fees as well to make your life easier. Our families have always loved our Super Simple Pricing! Due to the ever-changing situation and uncertainty of holding a live performance, we did not include recital fees in our pricing this Season.
We are expecting to be able to return to the theatre for the Spring, so there will be a performance package to cover your dancer’s beautiful costume and other performance fees.
We will communicate all performance information and fees as soon as we are able to. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Do you use a curriculum in your classes?
Our Miss Katie is a Certified Teacher in the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum in Pre-Primary through Level 5. This is incorporated into our ballet syllabus and is used in all of our programs.
Can my child take a class if they don’t meet the age requirement?
Our curriculum for each level is an accelerated year-long program that has been developed specifically for each age group. It is important to keep dancers in classes meant for their age group to keep them challenged without overwhelming them.
If your child is close to the required age, such as within a month or so, contact us and we will discuss further and have your child come in for an introductory class. However, if they are more than a month or so too young for the class, we will recommend an alternative class more appropriate for their age and development.
Can I watch the class?
Only dancers are allowed into the studio and the lobby is closed during class. Our dancers have been progressing at such an accelerated pace without the distraction of parents in the waiting area. Students flourish in class where they have the best support to focus and engage with their teacher.
We hold Parent Observation Classes throughout the season where parents may come into the studio and watch their dancer in class!
The class I want to register for is full – what can I do?
First, check out our other classes to see if there is another time that you and your child can join us. Can’t come to another class? Join the waiting list! Sometimes families will switch to another class or we may be able to create a new class with enough interest. If you are on the list, you will be the next person in line if a spot or new class opens up. You can enroll online for the waiting list by clicking on the “Waitlist” link next to the class you want to enroll in.
We also open up enrollment to those on our email list before it’s open to the public, so joining the waitlist will ensure you get the option to register early for our next intake times, which are Summer and Fall.
Can my child try a class before we enroll?
Absolutely! We offer an introductory package so your dancer can experience our classes before you commit to the school year. We know your dancer will love it here, but intro classes are a great way for dancers, parents, and teachers to come together and find the right class for your child.

Click here to see our Dress Code. We do not require specific colors for each level at this time. While we don’t have a uniform, dancers do need to wear dancewear and the dance shoes outlined in our Dress Code. Wearing dancewear helps dancers feel ready for class and inspires them to try their best. Like other activities, you need to have the right equipment so you can move properly and the teacher can see body placement. This helps prevent bad habits which can potentially lead to injuries. Of course, we are more lenient with little ones, if they want to wear a huge tutu- go for it! We want them to feel special!

Older dancers will focus on improving their strength, flexibility, technique, tricks, and of course, learn exciting routines!
