Jade Program – 6 & 7 year olds
Dancers thrive as they learn more challenging technique in our Jade Level classes! Children establish a solid understanding of ballet concepts and technique as they progress. Dancers are so proud of themselves as they begin learning and mastering more difficult movements. Students feel supported by their encouraging teacher who focuses on positive corrections and a “you can do it” attitude. They will rise to the challenge as their teacher holds high standards for technique, placement, and behavior.
Dancers will focus on ballet in this level, but they will still do some tap, focusing on rhythms and patterns to reinforce the musicality they are working on in the ballet portion of class.
This class prepares dancers for the next level, the Amethyst Level.
Amethyst Program – 7 & 8 year olds
Dancers will feel like little ballet dancers in our Amethyst Level classes! Students continue to build on the foundations they learned in previous levels as they work on increasing their turn-out, balance, strength, and flexibility. This allows them to learn more exciting steps, which is so inspiring for young dancers. Children are more focused in class as their teacher continues to hold high expectations for behavior, effort, and improvement.
This class prepares dancers for the next level, the Sapphire Level.
Sapphire Program – Ages 8 & up
Students will feel like real dancers in training in our Sapphire Level classes! They are so excited to get to do exercises at the barre, which has always been reserved for the “big kids”. Dancers will learn more feet and arm positions as well as focusing on precision, posture, placement, and turnout. Performing exercises to build their arm and leg coordination will prepare students for more difficult movements as they progress. Dancers work on stretching and strengthening their arms, legs, and core so they can execute more ambitious steps with greater ease.
This class prepares dancers for the next level, the Ruby Level, which is a pre-pointe class.
Sapphire Program – Ages 9 & up
*Audition only for mid-season registration. Previous ballet experience is required to join this class. Students new to ballet will join the Amethyst level class.
*We are not accepting Mid-Season registrations for this program. New students will join the Amethyst Level class.

Contemporary is one of the most expressive styles of dance, incorporating modern, jazz, lyrical, and ballet. Dancers love getting to explore and convey their emotions through movement. It is many dancers’ favorite style- everyone loves it!
Contemporary isn’t easy and requires previous ballet or jazz experience. Dancers wanting to take this class must also take a technique class (ballet or jazz).
*Audition only

Jazz – Ages 7 & up
If your dancer wants to take a class that is more upbeat and less structured than ballet, but also wants to learn some dance technique, Jazz is the class for them! Jazz dancers will learn leaps, kicks, turns, and fun routines to current, age-appropriate music. Jazz is seen in many Broadway shows as well as “So You Think You Can Dance”. Your dancer may just be starting their journey to the bright lights of Broadway!

Youth Tap – Ages 8 & up
Tap is so fun! Learning rhythms with your feet is a great way to develop musicality. Tappers will also develop coordination and balance. Tap can be challenging, but dancers will build confidence and feel a sense of achievement as they master steps and gradually progress to more difficult technique. We will take what we have learned and put it into a fun routine! Warning: Tap is addictive, and your dancer will most likely compulsively practice their tap steps everywhere they go!
Youth Tap II – Ages 8 & up*
*At least 1 year of previous dance experience is required to join Youth Tap II
*Audition only for mid-season registration. Previous tap experience is required to join this class.

Do you use a curriculum in your classes?
Our Miss Katie is a Certified Teacher in the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum in Pre-Primary through Level 5. This is incorporated into our ballet syllabus and is used in all of our programs.
Can I watch the class?
Only dancers are allowed into the studio and the lobby is closed during class. Our dancers have been progressing at such an accelerated pace without the distraction of parents in the waiting area. Students flourish in class where they have the best support to focus and engage with their teacher.
We hold Parent Observation Classes throughout the season where parents may come into the studio and watch their dancer in class!
Can my child take a class if they don’t meet the age requirement?
Our curriculum for each level is an accelerated year-long program that has been developed specifically for each age group. It is important to keep dancers in classes meant for their age group to keep them challenged without overwhelming them.
If your child is close to the required age, such as within a month or so, contact us and we will discuss further and have your child come in for an introductory class. However, if they are more than a month or so too young for the class, we will recommend an alternative class more appropriate for their age and development.
Can my child try a class before we enroll?
Absolutely! We offer an introductory package so your dancer can experience our classes before you commit to the school year. We know your dancer will love it here, but intro classes are a great way for dancers, parents, and teachers to come together and find the right class for your child.

What should my child wear to class?
Click here to see our Dress Code. We do not require specific colors for each level at this time. While we don’t have a uniform, dancers do need to wear dancewear and the dance shoes outlined in our Dress Code. Wearing dancewear helps dancers feel ready for class and inspires them to try their best. Like other activities, you need to have the right equipment so you can move properly and the teacher can see body placement. This helps prevent bad habits which can potentially lead to injuries. Of course, we are more lenient with little ones, if they want to wear a huge tutu- go for it! We want them to feel special!
